Hounsfield-learning hub reception

With increase demand and popularity of a school located in London. Houndsfield School needed to create a large reception for the extra staff and better accommodate for high levels of traffic. Upstairs the school wanted a learning hub to provide the young children with an inspiring and creative space for interaction with books and technology.

24/7 Interiors were contracted to redesign and build both areas in the summer holidays.
The new reception desk now sits three people and is deeper than the old desk for more leg room. The bespoke desk is finished in brushed aluminium and white laminate with a glass top. 24/7 Interiors also provide three new desk made of birch ply and finished in white laminate in the reception area. A custom made tambour unit was also installed to sit the printer for the reception staff. New lights, power, flooring and bulkhead were installed to fit in with the layout.

24/7 transformed a dance studio into a botanical environment for learning. An artificial oak tree was placed in the centre of the room for the children to sit around and grass and straw carpet was laid that transforms from one colour to the other. These elements really bring the outside environment inside the room. Curved bookcases were designed to lead the children around the room creating a story tail, computer stations and iPad stands have been placed in the room for the children to explore.
